With the increasing number of users of Facebook, Twitter and the like, crime in social media is also rising rapidly. The lack of knowledge about existing social media crime phenomena puts especially younger users at risk. To increase safety in social networks, the SicherSocial project is developing various learning and working materials on this topic. These aim to provide knowledge for teachers and parents and to raise awareness among young users.

The concept of Sicher Social is based on knowledge building and aims at active exchange. The central aim of the project is therefore to raise awareness of the various facets of the phenomenon of social media crime. The relevant knowledge is collected, collected and processed and made available in the form of teaching, learning and working materials for teachers, young people and parents. The materials will highlight social media crime characteristics and illustrate them using case studies. These will be embedded in the criminal law contexts, the platform-specific dangers, and good and bad practices.
