AAL Vision: Project for the creation of an AAL strategy for Austria in 2025 successfully kicked off
To tackle the challenges that an ageing population brings about, the project AAL Vision is working on the creation of a strategic vision and roadmap for Ambient Assisted Living technologies in Austria until 2025. Based on analyses, classifications, a stakeholder survey and workshops, a strategy considering the needs and requirements of all relevant stakeholder groups will be created.
As the world’s population is ageing, the need for Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) technologies is rapidly growing. In order to ensure dignified ageing, good care and a high quality of life for older adults, a systematic vision for the AAL sector addressing the upcoming challenges of this dynamic area is needed. The project “AAL Vision: Visionary Strategy for AAL in Austria” funded by the benefit programme therefore works on the development of an AAL Vision for Austria for the year 2025. The project will be running from August 2017 until March 2018 with a total duration of eight months.
AAL Vision will rely on an analysis of previous national and international studies and project results as well as roadmaps about Quality of Life (QoL), use of technology, emerging technologies and societal value as well as thematic priorities of funding programmes as a base for the development of its strategy. Additionally, a stakeholder survey will be conducted to take all the requirements of the different target groups into consideration. Based on those findings, a visionary strategy for AAL in Austria for 2025 within the European context will be developed and discussed in stakeholder workshops. In addition to the stakeholder requirements, this strategy will also consider current and upcoming trends in technology and market development.
The results of the AAL Vision project will be graphically presented in order to guarantee the sustainability of the study and its findings.
Project Aims
The following aims have been created for AAL Vision in order to guide the project:
- Collection: Creating an analysis and systematic classification of existing studies, concepts, thematic areas and focus points in AAL in order to build a base for the project
- Survey: Conducting a survey including all relevant decision makers and stakeholders (i.e., suppliers, investors, decision makers, end users of AAL technologies, professional and informal caregivers, NGOs, interest groups).
- Development: Creating an application-related vision and purposeful strategy for Austria in 2025 covering all relevant areas of life.
- Visual Presentation: Presenting the findings related to different areas of life for different target groups in an accessible way.
